I see today on the Amazon website that Railway Breakdown Cranes vol. 2 is to be released
on 14 January 2013, what a pleasant thought that this book will soon be available to enjoy!

How fortunate to have such works of quality available on the subject , and the same goes for this Forum,
informative and inspirational.

Interesting that the Noodle catalogue mentions the possibility of a Volume 3!

volume 3 ? - how many of us have photos/slides tucked away of railway breakdown cranes in action ?
I'm sure as a group we could easily fill the pages of a third volume, over the years i've seen many many staff take 'snaps' which usually end up forgotton about, all prior to this modern digital age when popping home to get the camera to that incident with one wheel off or a whole 'raft' off whilst recovery equipment was summoned... Sad that it is, modern day operations see single figure breakdown cranes deployed - but as we all know it wasn't always like that!

Will WH Smiths be the cheapest option again?

Amazon's current price of £29.75 with free delivery is offered on the basis that the eventual payment will be reduced to their price at the time the order is fulfilled.

Anyone know where the launch will be?

I'm pretty sure that the low price at WHS for Volume 1 was a slip-up on their part. If you recall, their listing for the book was 'all over the place'.

I imagine that Amazon will be amongst the cheapest, but how unfair that the small booksellers cannot compete on the same level by likewise side-stepping full and fair taxation. It ought to be the other way round if anything!

Apologies for going a bit off-topic. As Admin I suppose I should know better! ;)
