A series of great videos, thanks for posting. The NYMR has invested a lot in its bridges over the last few years! I have to say that the way the chains are being used in the video in the first link looks very dodgy to me, sharp edges and some very undesirable angles. Obviously did the job though. |

There is an interesting pair of photos in the latest Moorsline, the NYMR house mag showing a pair of rather small cranes lifting in the main beam back in 1908. Paired with a shot from the same location showing the 2 KIROW cranes lifting the same beam out this year. Will see if I can get a copy posted. |

I would hazard a guess as to them being: NER C1 and C2; 15ton Smith 4249 and 4248 of 1892; based at York Leeman Road.
