ADRR95214 NYMR Ransomes 45T

I am led to believe that this crane is now up for disposal after being sat at Grosmont for the last 20 years or so.
No other detail known.

Thanks for that, Bryan.

Disposal could be good news if it means the crane is put up for sale with the intention of it being brought back into operation. Let's hope the NYMR keeps in that direction.

Incidentally, though it does seem close on 20 years since the crane moved to Grosmont, it was in fact still at Pickering Newbridge at the time of my research visit in June 2009.

The Gallery carries lots of photos of the crane, including some excellent ones from yourself, Bryan. I also have, at home, 48 component close-ups taken at the time of my 2009 visit, having been kindly allowed to crawl over the crane in its dedicated shed.

Interesting. Only yesterday I heard a rumour from a very reliable source that "a big crane" will be listyed in the next issue of Traction & Rolling Stock Advertiser. I imagine that this will be it.

If it is, I really hope it finds a new home and doesn't go the way of DS1560 and ADRC96100.

Incidentally, does anyone know if the ex-GWR 45-tonner ADRR95212 still exists, or if it too was scrapped when ADRC96100 was broken up?

A follow-up to my question above, two very reliable contributors report sightings of ADRR95212 during 2023. The crane was photographed in March 2023 (see link below) and subsequently also sighted in September 2023.

Many thanks to Andrew and Chris for the good news.
