While browsing through a back copy of "Steam World" Nov 2010.
There was an article on a clear up at Sandy. Photos taken and written by John Crawley.
Plenty of photos featuring the 3 cranes involved.
Kings Cross 75 t DB 966112 in Red
Cambridge 45t in Red no number detail
New England 45t DE 330110 in Black

Any idea what the number was of the Cambridge crane?

Looking at my copy of the magazine, and enjoying a second read of the excellent 7-page article, I'm reminded that the incident took place in December 1964, at which time the Cambridge crane would have carried BR number 133 (aka DE330133). It earlier carrried LNER No. 961606.

The crane was built by Cowans Sheldon in 1939 and I recall Roger informing me that it was the one upon which the classic Hornby Dublo model was based.
