Ransomes & Rapier 25-ton crane in Nairobi, Kenya (1)

Chris Capewell advises that this crane, built by Ransomes & Rapier in 1926 to their works no. C.6813, to 1000 mm gauge, was ordered by the Crown Agents for the Tanganyika Railway (as TR no. 2962) and moved to the East African Railways in 1948.
It was stated to be working at Voi, possibly until 2000, and sent to Nairobi for attention in 2001. Out of use at Nairobi from 2003 - 2013. Possibly it will be refurbished by the Steam Restoration Team volunteers.
