(DE331)158 recovers B1 loco 61116 at Duns, 1963 - (1)

In early spring 1963, B1 No. 61116 came to grief with a derailed tender at Duns. V2 No. 60836 brought the Tweedmouth breakdown crane over for the re-railing.

This picture shows the tender being re-railed with, it appears, employment of the crane's forward-most propping beam(s) alone.

    This photo is a derailment at DUNS not Tweedmouth - The engine is of The Berwickshire goods train.
    The man with flat cap and hands in pockets is my father William Burgon (goods guard) of the train.
