7.1/4" Gauge Model of CME14 (1)

7.1/4" gauge model of the 25-ton steam breakdown crane CME14 built for the LNER by Craven Bros in 1907.

Owned by John Dalton who says "The model was built by Don Ketley, a good friend of mine who died last June. He was a prolific builder of steam models all his life, mainly in 5” & 7.1/4” gauge, for which he attained many awards and won a gold medal at the 1999 ME Exhibition for a 7.1/4” gauge BR Class 4 tank.

"The crane model was Don's final project and I inherited it on his death and plan to finish it off when time allows. It requires a boiler and fittings. I displayed the model at the Model Engineer Exhibition at Sandown Park in December 2011 on the SMEE stand where it created a lot of interest, and I had it working over the 3 days on compressed air. The photos were taken by me a couple of years ago at Hemsby."
