Two locos wedged together isn't an easy situation for recovery. When it happens under a bridge, that can only add to the problem.

No crane in this picture, but it shows the problem faced by the Healey Mills gang on arrival with their ADRC96714 at the incident site. The locos involved were 46004 and 31326.

Thornaby came down to help out from behind whilst Healey Mills worked at the front. Both gangs used MFD gear to part the locos because they couldn't get the lifting brackets on the Class 31.
