At the time of the photograph the crane was with Healey Mills depot, but not many months later it went into Holbeck ODM for a major repair and, with Healey Mills being marked for closure as a breakdown and recovery centre, they never got it back. After the repair it went to Cardiff Canton.

That closure couldn't have been foreseen by breakdown foreman Les Woad and his crane drivers when, over the 1980/81 winter, they attended a course at Carlisle Kingmoor yard prior to receiving the crane. The crane was received in April 1981and the drivers all passed out on it at Healey Mills in May/June 1981.
