Lorry Retrieval at Langcliffe, 10.5.1974 (1)

Langcliffe is north of Settle. The articulated lorry came through the bridge parapet on to the track and blocked the S&C line for about 10 hours. The bridge was in the middle of an "S" bend and the lorry had been going too fast as it entered the bend. The photo shows the view from the crane positioned ready for retrieving the lorry.
